Karim Khani Citadel

One of the historical and interesting attractions of Shiraz is #Arg Karimkhani, which was built during the Zandieh period with the best materials and the best architects of the era. This building is the most important and largest building in Zandieh, which was built on a land area of ​​12,800 square meters, because Karim Khan’s residence was known as Karim Khani Citadel. This citadel is a combination of residential and military architecture and was the residence of local rulers during the Qajar period, but it was turned into a prison during the Pahlavi period, and this misuse of the building caused serious damage to the building. Currently, Karim Khan Citadel is a museum of interesting and spectacular sculptures and is managed by the Cultural Heritage Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In 1351 solar year, Karim Khani citadel was registered in the list of national monuments.
